It’s DOG-ust…I mean, August! 🐶 🌞
(really, every day is a great day to celebrate dogs!)
Happy DOG-ust!
As a dog lover, I’m so thrilled when August rolls around. It’s not only the “dog days” of summer for us here in the Northern Hemisphere, but it’s “Dogust,” a time when we celebrate our canine pals. Did you know that August 1 is the universal shelter pet birthday?
Pippin is a rescue, and I didn’t know about this when we got him, so we always celebrated his birthday with Bear’s in May. But I also celebrate him in Dogust, and I’m bringing the party here!
If you’ve read Marriage in Trouble, you know it’s one HUGE celebration of rescue animals. The hero, Pax, runs an animal shelter on his family farm. And this shelter happens to be a nuisance to the neighborhood where the heroine, Justine, lives. Justine doesn’t want anything to do with the shelter—or a husband—until she enters a marriage of convenience with Pax. (Y’all know where this is going, right?)
Each of Pax’s chapters starts with a shelter animal profile like this one:

Celebrate Romance
Want a signed copy of Marriage and Trouble or any of my other books? Come see me on Bookstore Romance Day, Saturday, August 15. I’ll be at the Decatur (Georgia) Public Library. I’ll be on a panel from 3-4pm and signing books after. Don’t live in the Atlanta area? Find your local celebration here. There are even virtual sessions that you can enjoy from home!
Kobo sale!
This month, you can get Boss Me and Advances and Retreats for $1.99 each during the Travel the World sale at Kobo!
Boss Me – When Ben’s boss goes missing, he must chase him to a Caribbean island and convince him to come back to save the company from a hostile takeover. But will the romance that blooms beside the tropical flowers last beyond their return to San Francisco?
Advances and Retreats – When Bridget and Cole’s board of directors forces them to compete for the CEO position, tensions run high. So high that after an outburst in the office, they’re sent to Costa Rica for a management retreat. Is love another game for these competitors, or could it be the real thing?
Don’t read on Kobo? No problemo! Grab this sale in my store too.
